Duos Darina Maleeva, violin and Xavier Lecomte from Bretonnerie, piano, happens all over the world. Its particularity is to present singular programs with rare and unpublished works by great composers..

Evidenced by their new album Complete for violin and piano by César Franck, which presents three little-known pieces by the composer in addition to the famous Sonata. Official release on 8 september 2023. Label IndéSENS Calliope Records.

XAVIER LECOMTE of BRETONNERIE, piano

Xavier Lecomte de la Bretonnerie gives many concerts as a soloist and chamber musician, in prestigious places such as the Salle Gaveau in Paris, or the Steinway hall in New York.

He likes to develop programs that compare works from different periods. His interest in the contemporary repertoire led him to create several pieces dedicated to him. (by Roger Tessier, Renaud Desbazeille...).

Easy contact with the public, it offers listening keys to help unravel the mysteries of Fancy the messiahs, a study by Ligeti or pieces op.7 by Webern.

His original project on the Fables associates the masterpieces of Jean de la Fontaine with music by Rameau, Mozart, Schumann, Ravel, Rock…

He is a member of several competition juries, such as the international competition J.S. Bach in Kurume (Japan) and gives masterclasses at summer academies.

He is the winner of several international competitions, notably : 2nd Grand Prize at the Competition Albert Roussel, 1st prize in the competition Music and Earth From Sofia (Bulgaria), 2nd Grand Prize at the International Piano Competition Carl Filtsch in Sibiu (Romania).

Student of Germaine Mounier at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, he perfected himself with Paul Badura-Skoda, France Clidat, Billy Eidi, Oksana Yablonskaya.

Piano teacher at the Igny Conservatory, He also taught at School of Singers from Paris. He is the artistic director of the associationFriends of Music and Earth.

In 2022, he plays Robert Schumann's piano concerto three nights in a row with the’Paris-Saclay Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Johannes Le Pennec.
